Our dynamic and forward-thinking team is passionate about making a positive impact on the world, and we are looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to help bring Elevate’s vision to life.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Mechanical Engineer to be part of an established team and business to help us to build on our strong foundations and grow the business in a sensible pragmatic way in response to the needs of our clients and society.
The role involves overseeing all aspects of day-day to project leadership and mechanical team leadership. Project leadership will include oversight of mechanical, electrical and public health design development and implementation while working closely with the internal team, our clients and wider external stakeholders to deliver and ensure successful outcomes. You will be fully supported by an experienced senior leadership team.
The role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of the growth of our mechanical team and work closely with the senior leadership team in influencing and shaping the direction of the team over the medium to long term. Key Responsibilities:

Act as mechanical team lead and project lead/manager of challenging and complex projects and manage the wider engineering team to deliver these projects.
*
Provide project support and oversight of projects being managed/delivered by the wider team, ensuring delivery of our clients brief and achieve successful outcomes.

Oversee the commercial management of projects in terms of financial, programme, design and risk management. Report directly to a member of the senior leadership team.
*
Contribute significantly to shaping, supporting and influencing the growth and direction of the mechanical team and wider team.
*
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Support the team in identifying training and development needs.

Conduct feasibility studies and surveys, deliver design reviews and produce reports, specifications and drawing packages whilst consistently ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, best practices and the agreed brief.

Develop and maintain technical specifications, schematics, and documentation.
*
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes which achieve the right balance of managing expectations, design, cost and risk whilst sticking to our primary objective of achieving positive change.

Exhibits and promotes an inclusive mindset in performing consultant responsibilities and in the support of colleagues throughout Elevate and externally.

Assists in pursuing business development and bidding opportunities under the direction and support of senior leadership.
Requirements:
*
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Other relevant experience would be considered.
*
10+ years of experience in mechanical design and development.
*
Proven track record of leading project stakeholder engagement, agreeing the brief, overseeing the delivery of engineering projects from concept through to handover.
*
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience leading others and teams.
*
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, with a commitment to being at the leading edge and delivering quality.
