Purpose
To prepare accurate pricing estimates for new and existing contracts. Apply best practice and play a key role in achieving strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Make a significant contribution to the achievement of tendering success rates and the business development department
Set and maintain high standards in tendering, accuracy, commercial insight and accompanying data evidence.
Ownership, development and continual improvement of the company's business development tendering model.
Undertake site visits to assist with pricing and resource planning.
Maintain strong relationships with senior directors and managers throughout the business.
Maintain effective, productive relationships whilst managing conflicting priorities of colleagues.
The post holder may, from time to time, be required to undertake other related duties not listed in this job description according to the needs of the business.
Skills
Excellent analytical, financial and commercial skills in relation to business development.
Advanced level in application of MS Office, especially Excel
Strong organisational skills, with excellent time management, the ability to work under pressure and to multiple tight and concurrent deadlines.
Demonstrable problem-solving skills and an effective approach to decision-making.
Capable of conducting research, with the ability to understand the company's services, markets and competitors.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
Numerate, analytical and articulate.
Ability to interpret information, carry out research, analyse complex data, make sound judgments and appraise performance.
Personal Qualities
Proactive, a confident communicator, working collaboratively with the team and wider group with a clear commitment to the highest ethical standards and Company behaviours and values.
Shows good communication skills and builds positive relationships.
Some knowledge of competitive tendering, and experience in a similar role preferred
Qualifications
Qualification to degree standard in a relevant subject is preferred.
Full UK Driving Licence.
