We're working with a trailblazing technology company at the forefront of innovation, providing tailored IT solutions to empower businesses and individuals alike. Having successfully supported apprentices with Baltic in the past, they're now looking to grow the team further with an individual who is keen to progress to an IT technician role by gaining experience with hands-on IT issues and working with the IT service desk.
In this role, youll work towards your IT level 3 Support qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
Your time will be spent on both an IT service desk and also training as a photocopier engineer, providing hardware support
Respond to support requests by efficiently identifying, logging, and categorising incidents. Leverage your strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to provide top-notch 1st Line IT technical support and print hardware support.
Installation of photocopiers/networking of print and scan configuration
Repairing photocopiers and print devices (manufacture training to be provided).
Provide field support for service issues which will involve mechanical maintenance
Work closely with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to various aspects of IT operations.
Gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms and services.
Learn and implement best practices to fortify their systems against cyber threats.
Assist in managing and optimising their network infrastructure.
Proactively work to ensure all systems are up-to-date and secure.
Install, build, and configure a diverse range of software and hardware while diligently responding to requests for support. Keep clients informed of updates and progression, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
£13,000 - £15,000 per annum
Working Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5pm
28 days holidays including bank holidays

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
Passion for technology and IT
An eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in staying abreast of the latest IT trends.
Proactive approach to taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
Collaborative spirit with excellent communication skills.
A grade 5 in English and a grade 4 in Maths at GCSE is required for this role

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support Technician.
