Set on the Roseland Peninsula, the hotel benefits from spectacular sea views located south of Truro. The ideal person will have experience within a similar role at a similar level. The Role – Office Manager The aim of this position is manage and support the Reception team and Reservations Office within Cornwall's highest rated 5* Country House Hotel. Supporting them in delivering the highest level of service from the moment the guest makes their reservation, right through to their departure. The role is full time over 5 days, consisting of primarily Monday to Friday, with the need for flexibility to cover the needs of the department. The role requires an organised and efficient candidate who can multitask and manage several teams simultaneously. They must be standards driven, as the service given to all guests is of the highest level and importance. Whilst reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be supported in aspects of your role by the Assistant Office Manager, and working alongside the Reservations Manager you will create the management team of the Office. Whilst all of the above is mandatory we are also looking for a candidate who can join our fun family firm. You must be able to build a rapport with your colleagues and the ultimate goal is to enjoy your job. Candidate Criteria This is a very high-quality operation and accordingly, candidates must have had significant exposure to top-quality hotel and leisure environments. Whilst at one level this is a traditional business, it is also progressive, and candidates should be able to demonstrate a much more contemporary outlook on life and an ability to adapt to a fast-moving, busy operation. The Office Manager position offers a great deal of variety and expose to different elements of the hotel, therefore an understanding of its operations would be advantageous but is not essential. From telephone bookings to written correspondence, chauffeur arrangements to spa bookings the department is the hub of all guest interactions. You will assist with our guest requirements and bespoke services and ensure that we build good relationships with our discerning guests. The Reception and Porter team are the first and last faces of the Hotel, creating lasting memory. Essential Requirements and skills Experience in managing an office in a Hotel environment. Demonstrable experience in team management and leadership. High levels of customer service are essential for this role. IT literate – Office 365, proficient in Excel, word and Outlook. Excellent use of written English. Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures. Experience in staff rota management. The ability to exercise discretion is essential. A good understanding of GDPR is required Previous experience working in a reservations office would be desirable. A proven experience operating a Property Management System is essential. This position is based from the Hotel and home working is not available, please consider the commute prior to making an application. Please note that a relocation package can be discussed, with the option of a cottage near to the hotel for accommodation.
