Electrical Estimator

My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in the company’s expansion, contributing to our strategic vision by delivering accurate and detailed electrical designs and cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects across the UK. You will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Bid Team and Technical Designers to create comprehensive proposals that align with client expectations. - Support the Estimating Manager by communicating any potential workload issues in advance. - Prepare project proposals for sign-off at the appropriate level to ensure adequate time for adjustments before final submission. - Ensure all tenders comply with the latest industry standards. - Coordinate with the supply chain to secure competitive rates and manage project pricing. - Analyze drawings and specifications to create competitive, detailed tenders. - Quantify materials and labor from drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. - Use estimating software to produce complete electrical cost estimates. - Verify the technical accuracy of all bids. - Prepare tender packages for subcontractors and review responses for inclusion in the primary bid. - Participate in the finalization of tenders, offering value engineering suggestions and alternative manufacturer options. - Adhere to company estimating standards and procedures. - Represent the company in negotiations and client meetings as needed. - Participate in internal project handover meetings and collaborate with the Commercial Manager to develop project strategies. Skills and Qualifications: - Experience in electrical estimating and bid presentation. - Proven record of successfully securing electrical projects in alignment with business standards. - Strong technical understanding of electrical systems is beneficial. - Knowledge of labor, plant, materials, and equipment costing. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications. - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt under pressure. - Extensive knowledge of suppliers and subcontractors. - Proficiency in estimating software and general computer literacy. - Solid commercial acumen.
