Connect it Utility Services are a growing multi utility company and to help support our success we are looking to expand our Technical Team by recruiting a Technical Manager. This role will support the business by overseeing a portfolio of multi-utility infrastructure projects.
Youll be responsible for the engineering and delivery of multi utility services, actively engaging with stakeholders and clients, whilst having the drive to deliver a project within timescales. Overseeing and managing works from contract award to design, commencement of works and providing ongoing engineering and technical advice. Having a clear understanding of legislative, commercial and policy changes, youll be comfortable in your ability to overcome challenges whilst educating and implementing process and support for industry change and development, mentoring and leading others in the team, both at a business and individual level.

Key skills: Manage the operation of Electric, Gas, Water and EVC projects, driving them from concept to completion.
Be a strong communicator and primary point of contact for our clients and ops teams to talk about ideas, requirements, specifications and understand how CIUS can best support them and their projects.
Work closely alongside our engineers and design team to ensure that designs are produced in a timely manner and as required to meet client specifications.
Strive to support design engineers and use expertise to sign off design methodologies.
Be effective and efficient with handover of projects, enabling autonomous delivery.
Engage with utility companies and stakeholders to seek permissions for connections, overcoming engineering difficulties and other collaborative activities.
Liaise with electricity, gas and water networks to ensure processes are being followed and documentation is satisfactorily completed, ensuring best practice is incorporated within CIUS procedures.
Familiar with utility legal processes and basic understanding of incorporated rights process, enabling confident conversations with clients to drive legal completions forward.
Provide support and advice to the estimating and design team for complex schemes.
Take ownership of site and design changes by communicating with commercial colleagues around the increase in costs or change of scope.
Have a strong understanding of NERs, WIRs and GIRs and the limits that we work within, supporting the business with policy changes and scope extensions.
Accurately identify business risks to ensure that procedures, systems, and designs can be delivered safely and to specification.
Provide support to our Commercial and Business Development teams when responding to tenders and other business opportunities, confidently sharing knowledge, construction guidance and effective solutions.
Create system processes, flows to drive automation and efficiency within existing CIUS systems.
Support both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance.
Qualifications and experience:
Circa 5years utilities or related industry experience.
IEng or CEng registration with relevant professional institution or actively working towards.
A familiarity with CDM requirements.
A strong communicator, who possesses good organisational and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels and coach others.
Manage own workload and time effectively, proficient use of Microsoft applications and other company systems to record and analyse data.
Additional:
BEng or MEng related degree or relevant engineering experience in a similar role.
Experience or education in use of AutoCAD for reviewing drawings.
Experience of regulatory change and implementation.
