Sunderland City Council are working hard to improve the recycling rate to improve waste management in our city. We are investing in education for residents, assisting residents in how to manage their waste correcting and utilising in-cab technology to identify and support the improvements. You will be responsible for a range of duties including driving door to door refuse collection vehicles, bulky waste collections, gritting vehicles and trade collection vehicles. You will be the lead of a vehicle crew alongside Environmental Services Technicians. Applicants must hold a current Class C HGV licence, Tachograph card and valid CPC card. Applicants must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions in a job that can be physically demanding. Your normal working hours will be Tuesday to Friday, from 07.30 until 17.15 (37 hours per week). You could be required to work on weekends and Bank/Public holidays, as well as between Christmas and New Year.
