We are working with an established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor to assist with their search for a Quantity Surveyor. The contractor are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to the building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control. Below are the key responsibilities of what will be expected day in day out; - Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for various projects. - Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. - Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects. - Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. - Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors. - Manage contractual claims and disputes effectively. - Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract administration. - Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications. To be a suitable candidate for this role, you will need to have the below requirements; * Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field * 3+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or a related industry * Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry. * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data. * Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate effectively. * Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. * Attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
