Electrical Commissioning Lead - Data Centre Project

Oracle’s Cloud Data Center Operations team is building and supporting new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services As a Site Lead for Oracle Data Centers, you will report into the Datacentre Manager and will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Center Environment and will be key in maintaining the Operational run aspects. You will be supporting our growth path and will be recognized as a ‘technical expert’ with a focus on core Data Center infrastructure. As a pragmatic problem solver on a wide range of Data Center environment and systems you understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. You will proactively monitor the customer environment by checking system error logs, monitoring ticket queues and consulting with other groups involved in maintaining the environments. You can execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. Ideally, we are seeking someone from a reputable Cloud provider and are also open to receiving applications from Tier 1 Data Center colocation providers. 5-12 years of experience in Data Center infrastructure Operations support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems). ~ Incident management experience required, responding to electrical and mechanical failures, focusing on incident resolution and lessons learned. ~ Incident management and resolution for outages related to M&E. ~ Proficiency in data center design, commissioning, and operational best practices. ~ Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direct management oversight. ~ Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience. ~ 5+ years of enterprise data center experience. ~ Familiarity with Linux administration or other command-line interfaces. ~2+ years of experience in Structured Cabling (Copper/Fiber) and cable testing. ~5+ years of experience in Cooling and Electrical systems concepts within data centers. ~ Proficiency in repairing and working with enterprise server hardware.
