Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Housing Options Officer in Slough. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.
The job:
To actively support the prevention of homelessness by providing a comprehensive housing options and advice service
Fulfilling the statutory obligations in respect of homelessness and access to housing solutions and work with, partner organisations
Undertaking timely and appropriate assessments of applicants seeking support
- Assisting clients to retain their existing accommodation or secure alternative housing when all other housing options or solutions are exhausted
The candidate:
- Experience in homeless prevention work is essential (2 years minimum)
- Experience of casework, file management and accurate recording of information
- A good understanding of the current homelessness legislation, Part 7, Homeless Reduction Act, Approach, Prevention work
- An understanding of welfare benefits
