You will be working for our brand Nuttall based in Dudley, DY2. Helping shape the industry for 60 years, Nuttall is the UK s foremost specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of retail environments.

Role Overview:

This role will be working for our brand Nuttall and based in Dudley, DY2. You will be an integral part of a close-knit dynamic team that values teamwork and supports each other towards a common goal. You will be based in an open plan office where dialogue, ideas and creativity can flow. Here you will have the opportunity to work on a range of unique, high value projects with the backing of experienced colleagues.

With a focus on our entire range of company products and services, you will be part of our team responsible for leading the estimate costing cycle and reviewing current practices to improve efficiencies. You will run, administer and organise project activities in cooperation with the Commercial Manager, using your valuable experience and knowledge to maintain, develop and provide estimates for client projects or internal use. Including cost estimates, work time estimates, cost analysis and overall stakeholder satisfaction while achieving the best cost price in order to increase profitability and reduce risk.

Your contributions will be central to our site activities, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the black country atmosphere and collaborate closely with our dedicated team to push boundaries and shatter expectations.

  • Prepare detailed, competitive and well-written client proposals, estimates and cost budgets to sustain and grow the business.
  • Establish and develop productive, professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Presentation of finished estimates to sales/contracts team prior to submittal to the client.
  • Co-ordinate, clarify and assess the pipeline, including personnel, support services, business needs and resources, in order to meet expectations, ensuring opportunities are prioritised, workload is managed, and timescales are achieved.
  • Liaise with customers, internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects and ensuring all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and agreed pricing structures.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Keep existing contracts up to date, including making amendments, providing new cost estimates, and maintaining communication with stakeholders
  • Work with the contracts manager, design team and other departments to support development, innovation, and creativity on client projects.
  • Integration with the IBS system and management of all costs held within the database.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, estimate logs, cost database, master templates.

You re All We Need:

  • Previous experience in estimating in the fabrication/manufacturing industry and an understanding of engineering and fabrication with the ability to read and work to engineering drawings
  • The ability to influence and communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. You must work well with others!
  • Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, MS Projects etc)
  • Experience of using estimating software to provide quotations and cutting sheets for fabricators and support for internal and external departments. Experience with IBS (MRP) Bluebeam would be advantageous
  • Skills in using tools such as Auto CAD, and other relevant CAD packages
  • Attention to detail and a mind for figures
  • A talent for recognising and utilising cost savings
  • Experience with preparing multiple, detailed and well written proposals for a variety of clients and managing a range of contracts at any one time
  • Strong time management, high self-motivation with a methodical and thorough approach to work
