Our client is looking to recruit a Systems Support Engineer with good systems knowledge and an understanding of PLC's and HMI's. The company are one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of control and monitoring systems. If you have Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualifications and have experience of producing technical drawings for electrical control systems then this company can offer ongoing training and support to develop your career.

Duties:

  • As a Support Engineer working within Systems Engineering you will write concise documents that express ideas and define technical requirements
  • Produce precise technical drawings for electrical control systems using CAD software
  • Specify and select components for low voltage control systems
  • Work as part of a small team of Project Engineers
  • Liaise with a customer's representatives to agree requirements
  • Some site work will be required

Skills and Experience:

  • BTEC Level 3 in Electrical & Electronic Engineering as a minimum
  • Must be familiar with low voltage control equipment and control circuit design
  • Must have some basic programming ability, preferably with real time applications
  • A good understanding of programmable logic controllers and their I/O structures would be preferred
  • A familiarity with graphical interfaces (HMIs), their data collection methods and configuration tools is preferable
  • Some knowledge of serial communications and networking used in an industrial environment would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution and switching at low and medium voltage would be ideal
  • Knowledge of electrical machine basics (generators, transformers, motors), prime movers and generators used in industry would be useful along with electrical protection devices & energy monitoring devices
