Art Teacher Needed for Secondary School in Southampton (Starting January 2025) Position: Full-time Art Teacher Location: Southampton, United Kingdom Start Date: January 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Contract (Paid to Scale - £150 - £230 per day) Contract Duration: January 2025 - July 2025 (with potential for permanent position) Overview: Supply Desk is recruiting on behalf of a respected Secondary School in Southampton, seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to start in January 2025. This is a temporary role, with the potential for a permanent position. You will be teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, in a well-supported, dynamic, and flourishing department. About the School: This mixed Secondary School, catering to students aged 11-16, has a strong reputation for academic success and fostering creativity in a supportive and nurturing environment. With a student population of around 1,000, the school is proud of its “Good” rating in all areas from its latest Ofsted inspection. The Senior Leadership Team is committed to both student achievement and the professional development of its staff. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Art lessons in line with the school’s curriculum. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Maintain a creative, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to foster a supportive learning community. Inspire students in their artistic development, nurturing their creativity and encouraging self-expression. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related subject. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Art. Ability to inspire and motivate students, encouraging them to achieve their full potential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience teaching secondary school students is desirable but not essential.
