My client, is committed to delivering high-quality construction services while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, environmental protection, and quality assurance. I am looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to join my client's team.
Position Overview:
As the H&S Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company's H&S systems. You will Promote, Advise, Train, Consult on all aspects of Health and safety and environmental issues within a construction company environment. This role requires commitment to ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities, to assist the Health & Safety Manager on:
Provision and use of clothing and equipment.
Legal requirements affecting health, safety and welfare and the adequacy of facilities provided.
Assist the H&S Manager with regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Preventing injury to personnel and damage to plant and equipment.
Assist the H&S Manager in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Assisting the Health and Safety Manager in the Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Task Briefing and Method Statements.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure H&S considerations are integrated into operational procedures and project planning.
Maintain records and documentation related to H&S compliance, incidents, and corrective actions.
Stay current with changes in industry regulations and standards, and communicate these changes to the team.
Adhere to the company safety reporting procedures.
Assist with the identification of training requirements and subsequent training for all levels of employees; monitor recording of such training.
To report to the Health and Safety Manager responsible for safety.
Awareness of Environmental issues within the construction company environment and the Environmental Manual policy and objectives
Qualifications:
Must be good at communication, negotiation and not afraid to challenge.
Professional, honest, convincing, resilient.
Excellent IT skills.
Attention to detail, high standards, no compromise in safety standards.
Training:
Shadow Health and Safety Manager 1-2 days a week.
NVQ Level 3 NEBOSH - Normally 18 months to complete.
