Job Title Stores Controller Region Europe Country Northern Ireland/Ireland Location Smurfit Westrock Lurgan Function Maintenance Closing Date 15th November 2024 Overview/Background Based at our Plant in Lurgan, an opportunity has arisen in the Maintenance Department for an committed Stores Controller. The primary focus is to support Maintenance to ensure that the required level of purchasing support is provided to all members of the Maintenance Team. To provide information and assistance where required for engineering parts requisition. The Stores Controller will ensure that store and surrounding area are maintained to a high standard with adequate stock levels and organisation. Reporting to the Assistant Maintenance Manager, the Stores Controller will: Be provided with on the job training specific to Lurgans store. Carry out PI counts, collect part deliveries around site and deliver production deliveries to the correct person/ location. They will manage invoice queries for R&R and capex orders on the SAP system. Also follow up on any queries that arise, manage the parts, and control the area making sure its tidy and safe. Main Tasks/Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc. To provide purchasing support to the engineers and managers. Validates all purchasing costs and seeks to obtain best value on all purchases. Raise all purchasing orders according to procedure, ensuring correct delivery date, correct categorization, and item detail on purchase orders. Control the site Maintenance stores and stock reports. Collate goods received and ensure same day receipting of deliveries. Labelling and assigning storage locations. Receipting goods and services from contractors / suppliers used onsite. Answer and deal with any purchasing queries as necessary. All relevant SAP data entry as necessary Proactive approach in continuous improvement for department and showing own initiative. Removal and disposal of obsolete parts and equipments. Creating and organising consumable stocks Manage the work: asses the day-to-day performance, review the workings and controls in place. Follow all written SOPs relating to Lurgan stores. Updating and creating SOPs for Engineering to follow. To always behave in a courteous and professional manner. To react to unforeseen situations in a safe and professional manner using own initiative. Acceptance and support of all new systems, processes, and procedures as they are introduced into the Department/ Site. Flexible on working hours combined with the ability to meet demanding timeframes around month end reports. (Annual stock take management weekend working hours) To carry out any other relevant reasonable tasks/duties as required which may be deemed necessary by the Maintenance Manager/ Assistant Maintenance Manager. Key Competencies/Qualifications/Requirements Essential Criteria: 5 GCSEs or equivalent with at least a grade C in English and Mathematics at GCSE level or equivalent Proven successful experience in a working in a manufacturing environment Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Highly motivated, driven, proactive, can do attitude Strong people and interpersonal skills that is able to communicate effectively and appropriately across all levels Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible, prioritise workload, manage complexity and adapt to changing conditions whilst meeting strict deadlines A positive, independent thinker, resourceful, logical, systematic, strategic and demonstrates initiative The ability to work independently or as part of a team Self-confident and willing to share information openly Ability to communicate effectively using the English language Be willing to drive forklift trucks for unloading and loading of good at site for any reason requested. Training provided. Demonstrates committed to learning and developing skills and knowledge. Desirable Criteria: Higher related qualifications Time served qualification in a maintenance/engineering related discipline Experience in working in a corrugated packaging site IT/Office related qualification or equivalent.
