Adecco are supporting a London Borough Council in a service role as a Senior Facilities Officer Job Title: Senior Facilities Officer Location: East London Contract Details: Temporary, Full Time Salary: £19.95 per hour PAYE (umbrella options available at a higher pay rate, with no holiday payments) About Our Client: Our client, a London Borough Council, has a vacancy in the Property & Facilities sector of their team. They are currently seeking a Senior Facilities Officer to join their team at the Central Transport Depot in London. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. However, flexibility is required for late evenings and weekends if required, as the depot operates 24/7. There is support, guidance, and training available for leadership improvement and progression, so, if you are a hands on person and able to do physical job and have an interest, please let us know. Responsibilities: Assist the Building Services Manager in delivering both hard and soft facilities management (FM) services at the Council depot. Manage the in-house repairs service, including supervising the team and covering in the case of absence/ sickness Oversee and supervise contractors Support the Building Services Manager Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor and control expenditure on building materials and FM consumables. Perform weekly and monthly tests on fire equipment, generators, hydrant pumps, etc.Essential Skills, Qualifications, Experience: Good all-round knowledge of delivering FM services in a pressurised environment. Experience of in-house repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and minor electrics. Ability to work with minimum supervision and use own discretion. Methodical and meticulous when planning and executing tasks. Strong knowledge of health and safety in premises management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Desirable Skills, Qualifications, Experience: Experience in supervising contractors and checking job specifications, method statements, and risk assessments. Knowledge of budget monitoring and controlling expenditure. Experience in procuring materials, tools, and equipment for repairs and maintenance projects. Familiarity with conducting site inductions and providing excellent customer care.Technologies: Proficient in using computer, standard Microsoft packages, emails.
