Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Acute (Gen Med & A&E)
Location: Dartford, Kent
Job Type: Full-Time/Locum Contract
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team in Dartford. This role is primarily based in an acute setting, with a focus on General Medicine and Accident & Emergency. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients, supporting their recovery and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation for patients in General Medicine and A&E settings.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, promoting patient independence and safe discharge.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists, to ensure integrated patient care.
* Conduct timely and effective assessments for patients with a range of acute medical needs.
* Participate in case conferences, discharge planning meetings, and family discussions as needed.
* Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to NHS standards and protocols.
Requirements:
* HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
* Proven experience in an acute hospital setting, with a focus on General Medicine or A&E preferred.
* Strong clinical reasoning and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
