Job Title: Office Manager & PA to Head Teacher Location: Birmingham Monday to Friday – 8am – 4pm – Immediate start Pay Rate: £17 - £20 per hour - DOE Are you an Office Manager / PA to head and  looking for new position? GSL Education are seeking an experienced Office Manager to work in and around in a school within the Birmingham area starting November 2024. You will manage the school office, ensuring efficient administrative support to the Headteacher and staff, and providing personal assistance to the Headteacher. The role is key to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations and ensuring effective communication across the school. You should have strong administration skills and experience working with MIS system or in a similar sector. However, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and quickly adapt to a new environment are equally important. This is a temporary position that requires you to work on weekdays from 8am to 4pm. This is a permanent contract within the school. Responsibilities: Oversee the school’s administrative functions: Manage the office team, including administrative assistants, receptionists, and other support staff. Budget management: Oversee office-related expenditures and assist in budget planning for office supplies and services. Record keeping and data management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including student data, staff information, attendance records, and school policies. Diary management: Organize the Headteacher's schedule, including meetings, appointments, and school events. Prioritize tasks and arrange suitable times. Meeting support: Arrange and prepare meetings for the Headteacher, including taking minutes, preparing agendas, and following up on action points. Project support: Assist the Headteacher in managing key projects and initiatives within the school. Event coordination: Help coordinate school events, including parent-teacher meetings, school assemblies, and staff training days. Supervise office staff: Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development to administrative team members. Delegate tasks as necessary to ensure smooth operation. School inspections and reports: Assist in preparing documentation for school inspections, audits, and reports. Leadership abilities: Capable of leading and motivating a team of administrative staff. Confidentiality and discretion: A high level of discretion is required, especially when dealing with sensitive matters related to staff, students, or school governance. Requirements: Experience working in a UK School is essential. Extensive experience with school systems is essential. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work. Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection regulations in schools. Proactive and adaptable: Can anticipate the Headteacher’s needs and adapt to changing situations quickly. Must have: •             Hold a right to work within the UK •             Enhanced DBS Child workforce Check – Must be on the update service.
