Client: We are currently working with a specialist demolition and groundworks contractor who have a significant presence throughout the UK. Now turning over £300m, the business has recently gone through a period of sustained growth. Currently they have over 200 projects spanning across commercial, industrial, residential and retail sectors. Role: Quantity Surveyor (London Based) – Between £65,000 - £75,000 + Full Travel + Package Role/Responsibilities: * Control all expenditure. * Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts * To assist the Operations Manager with pre-start planning and programming * Selection of Sub-contractors for works in accordance with company Sub-contract procurement requirements. * Sub-contract procurement and commercial management * Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts * Change management control * Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities * To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting * Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout * Assist the Operations Manager with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works. Place the appropriate order and all required information to carry out their work * Liaise with the Commercial Manager / Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required * Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts * Process subcontractor requests for payment * Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects * Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases * Sufficiently manage the financial aspects of the project to ensure the correct safety equipment is always used The ideal candidate: * Strong management and organisation skills * Strong financial acumen * Clear and strong communication skills * Personable and approachable * Enjoy working as part of a team * Ability to meet to deadlines * Good attention to detail In return they offer: * A healthy pipeline of work * Promotional Opportunities * Opportunity to join a growing business * Paid Travel * Medical Cover
