The Health and Safety agenda is critical to the site operations and needs an upbeat, engaging individual who is comfortable working at all levels and can engage and be out and about, involved with the daily activities in the factory.

The Role

  • Supporting the H&S Manager in the development of H&S policies and effective campaigns.
  • Driving improvements across the site health and safety plan.
  • Ensure all activities are aligned with the Group policy.
  • Completing risk assessments, working closely with key stakeholders and site inspections and audits.
  • Enforcing a positive H&S culture across the site, supporting teams and ensuring active involvement in H&S activities with all functions.
  • Conducting risk assessments.
  • Identifying the root cause on any health and safety issues.
  • Monitor all near misses on site working closely with the H&S Manager.
  • Conduct drills and execute emergency response plans.
  • Audit fire safety arrangements.
  • Promote a collaborative H&S culture right across the business.

In terms of background for this role, you will need experience in complex manufacturing environments and:

  • IOSH qualified.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach, always looking for improvements.
  • A proactive and involved style, always looking for improvements and engaging others.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance to legislation.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Open and honest and enjoys being part of a team.
