Role Overview
We are looking for a news and features journalist to join our team to assist the Editor in creating engaging and informative content for web and print. The ideal candidate must have a passion for electric vehicles and an understanding of the renewable energy industry. They will contribute to all aspects of our output, from editorial planning and commissioning to writing for print and web and contribute to our thriving digital and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities
● Write, edit, and proof read content with meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy.
● Generate and pitch unique news and feature ideas for both online and print.
● Aid the Editor in the execution of content delivery and management – ensuring all editing projects and content are managed and delivered effectively to deadline for cross-team workflow efficiencies.
● Work with our in-house videographer to develop and deliver highly engaging and channel optimised social media video, designed to excite, and attract new audience to both our existing and emerging channels.
● Conduct interviews for editorial features for online, print and podcast use.
● Collaborate with subject matter experts and contributors to ensure informative and engaging narratives.
● Stay informed about industry trends and developments, integrating them into content creation.
● Contribute to weekly podcast on the latest industry news
● Represent the organisation at relevant events and conferences.
● The role will involve a strong analytical approach to all key data & insight points to support constant improvements against key performance indicators. You will also be expected to be on top of and communicating trends in the EV and home renewables energy world that can support brand growth through audience development, content creation and revenue generation.
● Take on ad hoc projects when requested. You will be expected to adhere to the company’s hybrid working policy and to represent the brand, where appropriate, attending relevant events, including reader events, which may be in the evening. You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Requirements:
● Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
● Experience in a similar role, knowledge and passionate about everything electric
● Proven experience and talent of writing and editing skills for print and web, with examples.
● Strong organisational and time management skills.
● Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
● Passion for electric vehicles and a deep understanding of the industry.
● Proficiency in content management systems and digital publishing tools.
● Knowledge of and experience in using all major social media platforms.
● Ability to generate and translate ideas and concepts into trusted digital features.
● Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, combined with a passion for learning and curiosity.
● Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
● Confident in front of a camara and interviewing
● A confident and proactive personality with a collaborative spirit.
● Strong communication skills and a team player.

Job Type: fixed 9 month contract leading to permanent
Pay: £25,000.00 per year
