Support Worker - Tamworth

Job Advert We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers based in Tamworth. We are looking for someone to join us on a permanent, part time basis (30 hours a week). Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. Are you looking for your next new exciting job opportunity? The people we support enjoy a variety of things such as eating out, going to the cinema, shopping and attending discos –Who doesn’t love a boogie!? General shift patterns are 7am - 4pm, 4- 10pm. What does a Support Worker do? At our service in Tamworth you will be supporting a unique group of 8 people who have a learning disability and complex needs. As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified and happy life. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals. Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships. Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.We provide 24-hour support to a gentleman who has a learning disability and autism, in a supported living service to live independently in his own home.   Have you thought about working for Mencap?
