Currently, we have an opportunity for an registered/chartered Forensic Psychologist to join us for 7 hours per week on a 12-month basis as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology , supporting the subject group with current teaching requirements.
The Role:
As a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, you will have the opportunity to join our vibrant Psychology team and take responsibility for delivering teaching and student-centred learning, underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice within your assigned area of responsibility.
You will be in an excellent position to bring your disciplinary expertise to our thriving teaching and research culture, in turn contributing to our current undergraduate teaching including our BPS accredited MSc in Applied Forensic Psychology.
As a multidisciplinary school with an excellent record in applied research and teaching, we will support you to go beyond traditional boundaries, working with others internally, across the wider university, and externally to foster an inter-professional, collaborative approach to educational delivery from the outset.
Further to this, you will find yourself making a profound and positive impact on the experience of our students as you use your professional experience, initiative, creativity and judgement in applying appropriate approaches to teaching and learning support and scholarly activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working in practice, looking to further develop their skills and experience, or someone that may be looking for a change or eventual move into academia. The role can be undertaken either 1 full day per week or on a flexible basis amounting to 7 hours per week. The role can also be remotely based.
What we will need from you:
We will look for demonstrable evidence of practice in Forensic Psychology and we would be keen to receive applications from candidates that complement or enhance the expertise of our team.
You will also need:
- Chartered/Registered with BPS or registered with HCPC
- Evidence of a professional profile in Forensic Psychology alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional development.
- A vested interest in developing high quality teaching/learning and research programmes
- Evidence of teaching or training you have developed or been involved in which will directly support the University Strategy of enhancing student experience and increasing graduate employability (desirable)

Additional information:
Salary: Grade 6 - £45,163 - £56,921
Contract: Fixed-Term 12 months
Hours: Guaranteed Hours 260 annualised (equivalent to 0.2 FTE)
