Cyber Security Leadership Graduate

We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Cyber Security to build and lead a dynamic security function to ensure that SYNLAB UK are able to deliver healthcare and pathology services. You’ll work closely with our IT and operational teams, and create practical solutions that protect our digital and physical environments. You’ll play a key role in shaping a security-first culture across our national teams, making sure every colleague understands their part in keeping our data safe. Develop and deliver a security strategy that protects SYNLAB’s assets and people, supporting our healthcare mission. Establish and maintain key security accreditations (e.g., Lead and mentor a growing team of security experts, providing strong leadership and hands-on support. Be a proactive partner across IT, clinical, and operational teams, identifying risks and implementing solutions to address them. Respond to incidents quickly, diving into technical details and supporting the team through recovery. Strong background in cyber security, risk management, and team leadership—ideally within healthcare or a similarly complex environment. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM) are a plus, but hands-on experience and a track record of making security practical and effective are more important.
