Coyle Personnel are looking for a Project Manager for our industrial water systems client.

The suitable applicant will ideally be an experienced project manager but will also consider a project engineer who wants to progress to a broader career in general Project Management. For the right candidate, this position has considerable potential for growth and advancement as the company grows. We are looking for a person who is an experienced project manager who may or may not be a qualified engineer, but ideally has experience of project management in construction, design and practical operating conditions of industrial water systems. Ideally that would include experience with industrial wastewater treatment, chemical bulk handling & distribution, ultrapure water for electronics applications and PW / WFi systems for pharmaceutical clients, therefore including:
1. Filtration systems
2. Membrane treatments including reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration
3. Conventional and electrolytic deionisation systems
4. De-aeration
5. Sterilisation (UV, SIP & CIP systems)
6. Steam Generation
7. Wastewater treatment systems
8. Chemical bulk handling
However, this is not essential as in-house training will be provided, some of which will probably be in Germany.
We will also give additional weight to any candidates having previous experience in the design and preparation of proposals for wastewater treatment plants, either chemical (inorganic) or biological. This type of knowledge would give the correct candidate rather more potential to grow with the company.
It is particularly important to us that the selected candidate must have practical, proven ability and experience and we will therefore give serious consideration to those with field commissioning and operating experience.
The Position: Although this position is for a Project Manager which is primarily a post contract position, it can also include a significant pre contract involvement,largely dictated by company workload. It will have a number of wide-ranging responsibilities including:
Pre contract
1. Specifying equipment requirements for those process designs
2. Co-ordinating with equipment / system suppliers
3. Preparation of quotations
4. Selling to clients
5. Follow-up, liaison and meetings with clients
6. Assisting in the bringing to market, sales, support and servicing of an increasing number of water / wastewater treatment products, some of which will include cutting-edge technologies.
7. Preparation of detailed designs as part of the post-contract team
8. Site visits as appropriate / Collection of information for quotation preparation
Post-Contract
1. Day to day contact & coordination of all project matters with client & all subcontractors & H+E staff.
2. Specifying and purchasing of equipment, progressing its manufacture & delivery, ensuring its quality.
3. Production of general contract documentation including Equipment Schedules, Data Sheets etc.
4. Production of Health & Safety documentation including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH assessments, Safety Instructions etc.
5. Production of Functional Design Specifications based on outline operating process concepts.
6. Production of cable termination schedules for on-site installation
7. Supervision of CAD draftsmen for the production of general arrangement (layout) drawings and equipment design drawings.
8. Providing periodic technical support for a small number of other clients with both water and wastewater treatment plants of various types.
9. Assisting in the bringing to market, sales, support and servicing of an increasing number of water / wastewater treatment products, some of which will include cutting-edge technologies.
Post contract site work includes:
1. Organising and receiving equipment deliveries.
2. Site inspections & measurement.
3. Installation supervision.
4. Day-to-day liaison with client & contractors.
5. On-site pre-commissioning electrical checks.
6. Plant commissioning process / electrical / mechanical, which will require familiarity with plc based control systems. Capability of reading and modifying software ladder logic.
7. Some general process system chemistry would be an advantage
8. Production of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and working with Permit systems.

10. Providing on-site support and technical expertise.
11. Providing periodic technical support for a small number of other clients with both water and wastewater treatment plants of various types.
12. Fault finding & rectification. This is an important aspect of the position.
We do not believe in putting our valuable staff in "pigeon holes" it is far more important to experience a wide breadth of roles and responsibilities. For the right candidate, this position has considerable potential for growth and advancement as the company is growing and planning to introduce new water treatment products to a wide range of markets, both in the UK and abroad.
Our work is within the UK, across Europe and even farther afield. Occasional short-term foreign travel will therefore be required.
This position will suit a person who works easily as part of a close-knit team and is flexible in their approach to work in general since we have to work to strict customer deadlines. You must be prepared to genuinely join the team effort to ensure that the company achieves its goals. The position also involves liaison with our clients, the involvement increasing as time progresses. You must therefore be friendly, well spoken, presentable, practical, and willing to co-operate at all levels
The company continually strives to find more efficient ways in which to operate. Documentation systems are based on Microsoft Office Professional and associated packages, and good familiarity with this software plus good typing skills are therefore required.
Training: Training will be provided as necessary.
Insofar as the work elements themselves are concerned, this will be a mixture "hands-on" training and discussion / agreement about how the work should be done as the role develops.
As & when additional formal training may be necessary, this will be provided.
Part of the training package may be a period spent in Germany. This is an essential requirement, when required, and therefore possession of a valid passport is essential.
Package: The suitable applicant can be based in Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland or Horsham, West Sussex.
