On behalf of our client based at Seaton Carew, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage the mechanical scope for all UK-based projects.

You will provide essential support to ongoing maintenance and operations, particularly within an ageing plant environment. The primary focus will be on delivering project requirements aligned with KPI s and addressing escalated equipment failures.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing mechanical components, including vessels, machinery, and piping, and ensuring all technical specifications are met
  • Managing contractors and vendors for mechanical works, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines
  • Conducting risk assessments, such as HAZOP studies, to minimise potential hazards and improve plant safety
  • Swiftly resolving mechanical failures and developing robust maintenance strategies to enhance reliability and performance
  • Collaborating with internal teams to drive operational improvements and project advancements
  • Demonstrating a successful track record in delivering projects within regulatory frameworks, such as COMAH and PSSR

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • Expertise in regulations such as COMAH, DSEAR, and CDM
  • Project management experience in chemical manufacturing or process industries
