Procurement Professional Location: Peterborough Contract Rate: £28.84 per hour Umbrella Contract Duration: 12 months, starting December 1st (with potential for extension) Work Schedule: 37 hours/week, Monday to Friday with flexible start and finish times On-site Requirement: 3 days per week (self-selected based on workload) About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Procurement Professional to join the Peterborough Facility Procurement team, managing procurement activities for both the UK and USA facilities. Key Responsibilities: Drive procurement excellence for materials and services, ensuring lean, responsive, and resilient operations. Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, inventory management, and quality improvement. Develop and assess sound business proposals with a focus on risk management. Independently manage and solve procurement and supply chain challenges, proposing actionable solutions. Engage with a team of 16 procurement professionals. Qualifications: A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; a professional certification (CIPS or similar) is a plus. Minimum of 3 years in a procurement or supply chain role, or entry-level candidates with relevant academic backgrounds. Previous contractor experience within a large organization like Caterpillar is advantageous. Engineering or business backgrounds with relevant, transferrable skills are welcome. Proficient in ERP systems (QAD and SAP preferred) and Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Strong analytical abilities, including data analysis and pivot tables in Excel. Organised, effective communicator, and skilled in problem-solving. Ability to perform under pressure and manage high workloads efficiently.
