Buyer - Civil Engineering - Hull Our client is one of the region's leading construction and civil engineering contractors operating throughout Yorkshire and the midland from their regional office based in Humberside. Due to a period of sustained growth, we are recruiting for a new member of the commercial team, leading the buying function of the business. Roles and Responsibilities: Placing orders for plant and materials Management of and negotiation with the supply chain Working alongside the commercial department with the preparation of tenders Manage the supplier database and maintain supplier relationships Monitor lead times for the supply of plant and materials Accurately use the purchase order system to ensure correct allocation of site spend Management and mentoring of others within the teamAbout You Demonstrable experience of working within / leading a Purchasing Team in Civil Engineering or a Building Contracting Environments Excellent IT Skills Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management, Site and Supply Chain .
