Quantity Surveyor

Overview of the role:
To control financial aspects of social housing contracts, responsible for reporting on the financial performance on allocated projects and maximising margin.
Duties & responsibilities:
Liaise with all those concerned on all aspects of the project.
Assist contracts manager and site manager on legal and financial aspects to reduce risk.
Audit the contract documents and highlight discrepancies.
Produce an accurate cash flow forecast based on the project programme and update as work proceeds.
Produce a detailed cost plan / buying schedule for the each project.
Prepare detailed preliminaries expenditure schedules for discussion/agreement.
Identify appropriate work packages and sub-contractors.
Ensure subcontract orders are placed in line with projects financial targets.
Ensure adequate quotations are available for comparison.
Ensure a comprehensive analysis is undertaken on all quotations considering omissions/qualifications.
Ensure orders are issued in line with company procedures including relevant documents.
Liaise with procurement manager to ensure all sub-contractors appointed to the works have been assessed in accordance with the company’s procedures.
Produce and issue valuations in accordance with the contract documents.
Produce and maintain an ongoing draft final account, submit with valuation to ensure the client is kept fully informed of their obligations.
Assess sub-contractor accounts and produce subcontract payment certificates.
Issue Withholding Notices in good time against applications / invoices.
Agree subcontractor accounts before Lakehouse Final Account. Skills & experience:
Experience in QS running
financial aspects of social housing construction projects.
Excellent interpersonal
and communication skills.
Proficient
in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
Time
management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
Self-driven, results
orientated with a positive outlook.
Clear focus on customer
satisfaction.
Good planner and able
to assess own performance.
Reliable, tolerant,
empathetic, team player.
Sufficiently mobile and
flexible attitude to work.
Qualifications:
Construction related discipline.
QS degree.
What we offer:
£45,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
