We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a school in Horsforth. This is a full-time, long-term role with a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a passion for making a positive impact on their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and group support to children with SEND in a classroom setting.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities to meet the needs of each child.
Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and positive environment for learning.
Adapt to the needs of individual students with a flexible and creative approach.
Build strong relationships with students, supporting their emotional and educational development.
Collaborate with other staff and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.Ideal Candidate:
Must have previous experience working in a school or classroom setting.
Previous experience working with children with SEND or personal experience supporting individuals with SEND is essential.
Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualifications are required.
A nurturing, forward-thinking attitude with a creative and flexible approach to supporting learning.
