About the Estimator role

The main purpose of this position is to support sales by providing accurate estimates within the specified timeframe. Ensuring that all specifications and criteria are met to satisfy customer, legislative, and industry requirements. Additionally, the role involves ensuring that the department's systems and procedures run efficiently and to schedule.

Job Description:
  • Accurate and timely estimates: Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within the specified timeframe
  • Meeting customer needs: Verify that all information provided meets the customer's requirements
  • Client briefs and advice: Take briefs from clients and the sales team for new projects. Offer expert advice on manufacturing methods to optimise cost and timelines
  • Prompt responses: Respond to client inquiries promptly via phone and email, adhering to agreed service levels
  • Quotation and follow-up: Provide clients with detailed estimates using the company's quotation software and follow up as needed
  • Continual Improvement: Develop and enhance the quotation system to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of quotes
  • Accurate specifications: Ensure that all specifications for procured parts are accurate and readily available for the Purchasing Department to schedule
  • CRM maintenance: Keep the CRM software updated with relevant information daily
  • Technical assistance: Provide technical advice and support to both customers and colleagues
  • Cost reduction: Investigate opportunities to reduce costs in design, materials, and manufacturing techniques
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients: you'll need to build trust and rapport to drive client satisfaction and loyalty
The skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Understanding of woodworking or similar manufacturing processes
  • An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
  • High Attention to detail
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Ability to make decisions with sound and accurate judgment
  • Experience in using an MRP system would be an advantage but not essential
  • MS Office skills with advanced Excel experience
  • Minimum GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent in English and Maths

Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 Per Annum
