Behaviour mentor needed for a SEMH school in Chorley A Social Emotional Mental Health provision in Chorley are looking for an experienced behaviour mentor to join their support staff. This school are seeking staff to support key stage 2 and 3 students who have social, emotional, mental health and behaviour associated needs. This school has a key focus on sport and therefore individuals with a sporting background will be desirable. As this is a relatively small school, they are keen to employ someone who can slot straight into their tight knit team. Therefore personality, motivation and additional skills are important. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location - Chorley Position - Behaviour Mentor Type of work - Behaviour Support for youngsters with additional needs Start date - October 2024 Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing End date (if applicable) - N/A Contract type - Temp -Perm Full time/part time - Full-time Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £100 per day Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm Key Responsibilities: Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially and emotionally Leading by example as a role model Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs Offer guidance and mentoring Provide a safe environment to learn Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour Offer advice and support Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence Fully compliant in safeguarding policies and proceduresCandidate Requirements: Experience working with special educational needs (Career or personal) A passion for working within education A positive, creative, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.
