Exclusive role - CFO - PE backed Tech scale-up - Prestwick (hybrid working, 2-3 days in)
Cedar have been retained by a mid-market Private Equity firm in search of a CFO for a newly acquired profitable c.£30m t/o Technology business.
As the CFO and Board member, you will support the newly appointed CEO to drive operating excellence and support strategic decisions as the business scales into new markets/territories, and be the link between the board and the PE owners.
The new CEO is very data-driven, and needs someone who can slice and dice the business - evaluating business lines and products, and reviewing regional profitability. You will get to influence the future shape of the business, looking for efficiencies, and potentially rationalising or increasing investment into new revenue streams - as well as performing due diligence for M&A.
Overseeing a small team the CFO will have to be hands-on when needed, and meticulous on compliance and regulatory requirements, working in an international, multi-currency environment where there will be further geographical expansion as well as M&A activity.
The previous CEO (founder) and CFO are departing on good terms, having made a generous return on the sale of the business, so there will be a handover period for the CFO coming in. This is an ideal role for someone looking for a long-term CFO position helping to scale a business and take it through a transaction in several years time.
Experience you will need to be successful in this role:
Previous experience being the number 1 in finance (FD/CFO), with experience working in an international, multi-currency environment A strong analytical background, data-driven, and experience evaluating products / profitability, able to support new investment decisions Experience working in a Private Capital backed business (PE or similar) is beneficial, or strong working capital and cash flow knowledge Strong accounting background, meticulous on compliance and regulatory requirements
