Compliance Manager

Compliance Manager Birmingham city centre £55,000 - £65,000 p/a Bell Cornwall Recruitment are delighted to be working with an award-winning regional law firm based in Birmingham. They are looking for a Compliance Manager to be a key contact and advisor for the firm. The Compliance Manager role: This person will be responsible for ensuring the firm's risk management and compliance meets with all necessary standards and regulations. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Promote and support the embedding of a culture of compliance. Provide coaching to members of the wider team. Point of contact for the onboarding team to deal with queries and provide solutions. Provide technical advice on compliance issues, including but not limited to anti money laundering, client due diligence, GDPR, conflicts of interest etc. Conducting compliance risk assessment training workshops. Conducting internal reviews and audits. Advising internal management and partners on the implementation of compliance programs. Manage external compliance partners. Developing risk management strategies and creating regular reports. Following up on compliance issues that require investigation. Evaluating compliance systems and ensuring adequate systems are in place. The ideal Compliance Manager will have: Minimum degree-level education or equivalent - legal or compliance qualification preferred. Experience of working in Risk and Compliance within a law firm or equivalent regulated environment Good working knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct applicable to the operation of a law firm, including the SRA Standards and Regulations, Data Protection and Anti-Money laundering. Knowledge of Legal Aid work and quality standards would be desirable. Managerial / coaching others experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication and report-writing skills Analytical, numerate, and good attention to detail Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. Client service focused.
