Job Requirements / Description
An established and well respected, medium sized practice based in the Chelsea area of London, synonymous with bespoke and luxury residential projects, is looking to recruit a Senior Design Architect. The majority of their work is London based, prime and super prime residential single dwellings, and they consist of extensions, alterations or refurbishments of existing properties, although the occasional new build project will arise. Project values can range from £1M to £45M (and sometimes larger). Their clients have a high net worth and demand the highest quality of design, both traditional and contemporary. This can include basement extensions and listed buildings or work in conservation areas. The projects are very appealing as they allow you to push design boundaries, working with lavish budgets, producing fantastic bespoke architecture. The practice requires a Senior Design Architect to take projects from inception to RIBA Stage 3.  This will include the formulation of the brief and the development of concept designs.  In addition, you will collaborate closely with the delivery team to finalise proposals through to Stage 3 and into the subsequent project phases.  A key aspect of the role includes producing concept sketches and ideas, both freehand and digitally.  It’s essential you will possess exceptional 3D concept visualisation skills.  This role is a vital link between the practice’s Directors and the delivery design team, which includes both in-house specialists and external consultants This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in bespoke, luxury residential projects.  You will be working on some of the most prestigious homes, providing very technically interesting work.  The practice also has a strong social culture including several architecturally focused away days throughout the year.
