Software Engineer - Data

I am working with an exciting scaleup systematic trading firm based in central London with superb pedigree and some amazing talent. They are looking to hire a number of data-oriented Software Engineers into the organisation. In joining a small, collaborative engineering function you will have a unique opportunity to work on a variety of tools, processes and pipelines, and partner with some extremely impressive engineers. You will report directly to the CTO and have the chance to write greenfield code, helping to solve a number of interesting technical challenges for the business related to data processing, data infrastructure and market data ingestion. Skills and experience Proven ability to write clean, scalable code at commercial standard in an OO language, ideally one that is statically typed. They use .NET and Python mainly. Great knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including software architecture, data structures and algorithms An appreciation of modern software engineering practices, technologies and the underlying hardware Dataframes exposure (pandas, pola.rs or similar) Data pipeline experience (e.g. Dagster, Prefect, Argo Workflows, Airflow, etc.) Real-time event/data processing experience (e.g. Kafka) SQL (ideally with applications doing windowing/timeseries operations) An excellent academic record in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or similar Bonus experience Tick / market data experience Benefits Great starting salaries plus discretionary annual bonus scheme 25 days holiday Private healthcare and dental plan Critical illness cover Pension scheme Cycle to work scheme The flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week Vertex Search Ltd is acting as a recruitment agency on this assignment.
