Job Description:
As the Building Management System Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth for our BMS solutions in the London region. You will focus on the full sales cycle, from lead generation and tendering to closing deals, working closely with clients to tailor solutions that meet their specific project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales:
- Proactively identify and pursue new BMS project sales opportunities.
- Drive the full sales cycle from initial prospecting to contract signing, focusing on BMS projects for commercial, industrial, and high-end residential markets.
- Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored BMS solutions to meet energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational needs.
- Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Manage key accounts and ensure consistent communication, support, and upselling opportunities.
- Project Tendering & Proposal Management:
- Prepare and present technical proposals, tenders, and bids for BMS projects, working collaboratively with the engineering and technical teams.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to close deals successfully.
- Market Research & Strategy:
- Conduct market research to identify new trends, customer needs, and competitor activities within the BMS industry.
- Provide strategic insights to senior management to help shape the company s sales and product development strategies.
- Collaboration with Technical Teams:
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure seamless project execution, from design to commissioning.
- Ensure all client specifications are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reporting & Forecasting:
- Regularly report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the sales director.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and contribute to setting sales targets and strategies.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BMS sales, account management, or business development.
- Direct experience with BMS system project sales is essential (preferably within the commercial or industrial sectors).
- Proven track record of successfully managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, tendering, and contract negotiation.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated technologies, such as HVAC, lighting control, energy management, and smart building solutions.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into compelling commercial propositions.
- Sales & Negotiation Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying client needs and offering appropriate solutions.
- Self-motivated & Results-Oriented:
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet sales targets.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in engineering, building services, or business is preferred but not essential.
- Professional certifications or experience in HVAC, energy management, or smart building technologies are a plus.
