Our goal is to be the leading supplier of wireless telecoms site services in the UK. We are looking for a Chartered or working towards Chartered Structural Engineer to work on our Cornerstone Project. As the Structural Engineer , you will design in accordance with the customer specifications against the requested demand for new build, lift & shift & upgrade activities on telecoms sites on the VF, VMO2 and Cornerstone Portfolios. You will be working within a well-established & successful team environment, with in house CAD and structural design resources. The role will be home, and office based with site visits as per project demand. What will your key responsibilities be? Structural Design: Undertake Structural Design and/or assessment of telecommunication structures and preparation of relevant documentation. Undertaking reviews and certification of structural upgrades and new designs including calculations. Provide input at concept design stage and structural review throughout the design phase. To promote value engineering and to optimise design through innovation. To lead structural engineering or function as designated Principal Designer for framework contract where required. Site Inspections: Conduct site visits to inspect and obtain key information to support structural design or to resolve issues. Technical Report & Calculations: Perform structural calculations, simulations, and analysis to assess the integrity and performance of structural members, considering a wide range of permanent or variable load cases based on specifications and standards relevant to specific clients. Use structural software to enhance calculation methods, prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation to communicate design concepts, recommendations to client, and to ensure compliance and design specification are met. Regulatory & Technical Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and British Standards. To obtain necessary approvals from regulatory authorities where required. Monitor and maintain project in line with CDM Regulations. Provide authoritative advice from structural perspective on the development of Greenfield, Rooftop and Streetwork schemes. To ensure site constraints, buildability, sustainability, and commercial elements are considered. Collaboration: Work closely with internal/external designers and construction teams to coordinate project requirements, address design challenges and resolve technical issues. Promote industry best practice and ensure design governance maintained. What skills & experience are we looking for? UK Full Driving Licence. Willingness to travel. A Professional Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer (CEng), status preferred with IET, ICE or IstrucE. A wealth of experience in civil/structural design. Strong understanding of towers, monopole, and all antenna support structures. Working knowledge of designing with steel, concrete, timber, and masonry material. Familiar with both Eurocodes and British standards. Familiar with current Building Regulations and past historical building regulations. An in depth understanding of value engineering and the principles of cost-effective designs. A flair to produce non-standard innovative designs to meet environmentally driven requirements. Experience of ensuring quality through design and designing within Health and Safety guidelines. Familiar with CDM Regulations 2015. Computer literate for MS Word, MS Excel, Emails, MS PowerPoint. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Energetic and self-motivated. Ability to prioritise workload and meet key deadlines in a pressurised, target driven environment, whilst maintaining a client-driven ethos. Previous Telecoms (Mobile/Wireless ADC) experience, advantageous. About The Company Why choose us?
