The role of API Business Development and Sales Director is key to expanding the organization’s reach and will be instrumental in shaping its global strategy. Role Overview : The API Business Development and Sales Director will be tasked with developing and implementing a strong API-focused sales pipeline, building robust client relationships, and managing the sales process from start to finish. This individual will need to blend strategic insight with practical execution and have a deep familiarity with the API landscape. The role will cover all aspects of sales, from initial outreach to closing deals, leveraging modern channels and tools to meet growth objectives. Key Responsibilities : Sales Strategy : Formulate and execute strategies aimed at achieving global sales targets, driving API adoption across multiple markets. Client Acquisition : Identify and engage new clients through networking, digital outreach, and attending relevant industry events. Sales Lifecycle : Manage the full sales cycle, from first contact and needs assessment through to final contract negotiations and deal closures. Relationship Building : Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within target organizations. Market Insights : Stay ahead of market trends and competition to identify potential opportunities for growth. Team Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, technical, and product development, to ensure alignment throughout the sales journey. Performance Reporting : Provide regular sales reports, insights into the sales pipeline, and updates on market conditions. Qualifications : Experience : At least a decade of experience in business development, with 2–3 years specializing in API-focused sales within a fast-paced environment. Global Sales : Proven experience in managing sales efforts across international markets. End-to-End Sales : Full familiarity with the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals. Industry Knowledge : A background in businesses where API offerings were central is a must. Skills : Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong understanding of modern API technologies, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
