They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling Design) to contribute to research and project delivery in manufacturing technologies. With a focus on CAD/CAM tooling modelling processes.
Salary: £45,000 - £57,000 p.a. + Excellent Benefits including Pension and Private Health Care + Flexible Working

The Role:
- Work with the design and manufacturing leads to ensure that details for the relevant tooling, fixture and modelling challenges are captured.
- Work with the Specialists, Plant CA teams and toolmakers to co-ordinate, manage and help execute modelling activity that allows concepts and hardware for tooling (and their ancillaries) to be delivered on time that addresses the technology challenges.
- To ensure that research work is undertaken to meet or exceed the customers quality expectations and within the budgets and timescales allocated to each project.
- Prepare material to support Capability Acquisition Reviews (CAR), Manufacturing Capability Readiness Level (MCRL) packs and technology updates aligned to the HP components.
- Support & build up the tooling design capability for small, complex parts exhibiting novel features.
The Person:
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent in an engineering, science and/ or materials discipline
- Knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM Tooling modelling processes
- A good exposure to the industrial environment would be beneficial with an ability to pragmatically facilitate solution implementation.
- Demonstrate a level of autonomy with supervision required in more complex projects
- Strong stakeholder management skills and able to articulate themselves confidently
- Design for manufacture and assembly of tools and fixtures for investment casting and CNC machining processes
Desirable:
- Experience working in research environments
- Be able to liaise with supply chain network for non-conventional machining activity.
- Proficiency to write optimisation algorithms using linear algebra and transformation matrices
