Sous Chef
The Company
The Pumproom @ Copper Rivet Distillery is a unique casual fine dining restaurant and
cocktail bar set on the banks of the river Medway in Chatham's former Royal Naval
Dockyard.
The restaurant is housed in our Victorian former Pumphouse and is almost unique in the
UK as being a casual fine dining venue set alongside our Distillery.
Our guests have the opportunity to sample some of the UK's best locally made and
sourced gin, whisky and vodka in the very building in which it was made, alongside our
carefully prepared top quality cuisine.
The Role
Are you an experienced and ambitious Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie ? Would you
like to move to the next level? If so we would love to hear from you.
This role is full time as we need you to manage the day to day running of the kitchen,
motivating and mentoring the team. You will have great support as you will be working in
partnership with the Executive Head Chef who will be on hand to help with the strategy
and running of the Kitchen.
Our Executive Head Chef will also mentor you to get you to the next level in your career.
If you have a passion for excellent food, we will give you the opportunity to be curious and
creative.
Does this sound like you?
? We need you to have at least 2 years experience in a quality kitchen environment.
? Of course the basics are important, so we want you to be hot on hygiene and be
organised, so the kitchen and work stations are always in good shape.
? Allergy Awareness Training and Level 2 Food Safety are minimum requirements in
the Kitchen (we will refresh this training when it is needed).
? Management skills, you need to be able to lead, motivate and work well alongside
your team.
? You will need you to have some basic business acumen too, you will need to know
about costs, the sourcing of good food, seasonal produce and have a passion for
cost effective menu creation without compromising on quality.
