Our client is a successful and well-established manufacturer. They are looking for a Laser Setter Operator / Laser Machine Operative to join their team as the Laser Cutting Supervisor.
Salary up to £32,000 depending on experience + Overtime at x1.5
Hours of work: 6.40am – 4.45pm, Monday - Thursday (3 day weekend!)
The purpose of the Laser Cutting Supervisor is to operate and maintain laser cutting machinery, in order to cut a variety of materials to a high degree of accuracy and precision. The Laser Operator is also responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise, as well as maintaining the laser cutting machinery to ensure maximum performance and productivity.
In addition to Laser operation, this role will involve loading and moving the manufactured parts around the factory using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, therefore an in-date Counterbalance FLT License will be required.
Applicant Requirements:
• Experience of using CypCut software is ideal, however experience of similar Laser software is acceptable
• In date Counterbalance FLT License, with experience of using a Forklift Truck
• Ability to operate and maintain laser cutting machinery with precision and care
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Be able to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Able to check and measure the accuracy of components
Duties:
* Set up and operate laser cutting machines using CypCut software
* Monitor laser machines during operation
* Adjust laser speed and intensity to achieve the desired result
* Load and unload cut products using an FLT
* Maintain and troubleshoot laser equipment
* Monitor the quality of parts produced
* Keep records of production and operation of the machines
* Loading and unloading sheet metal
* Ensure H&S compliance and correct PPE is being used at all times in your area and the correct use of machinery and equipment.
* Carry our routine inspections of cut components to ensure accuracy and consistency
* De-burring of parts to maintain a high standard finish
* Creating and managing TPM for all equipment
* Control stock levels and rotation of sheet material
* Check gas levels and liaise with supplier/purchasing if required
* Ensure parts being programmed are to the latest drawings
* Liaise with engineering to update drawing where required
* Communicate daily with other dept managers
* Assist with the development of the re-ordering process
* Manage all machinery consumables
* Develop and maintain system
This job will suit someone with an in-date Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck license, with experience in a Laser Machine operation role where CypCut has been used; e.g. CNC Setter / CNC Machinist / Lazer Operative / Lazer Operator / CNC Programmer / Laser Machinist / CNC Setter / similar role
