About the Company:
A leading accountancy practice in Liverpool is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Senior to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong practice background looking to manage a portfolio of clients and take the next step in their career.
The Role:
As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and delivering exceptional client service. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting the overall growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff and providing feedback and guidance.
Preparing corporate tax computations and assisting with tax planning.
Overseeing VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts for clients.
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for queries.
Liaising with clients on financial and tax-related matters, providing advisory services where needed.
Assisting in the training and development of junior team members.
Ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.
Requirements:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
Strong experience in preparing and reviewing accounts and financial statements.
In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a varied workload.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to problem-solve and manage client relationships effectively.
