About the role: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SEN TA with Specialism in Challenging Behaviours to join the team as soon as possible. In this full-time, long-term role, you will work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students who present with a variety of behavioural needs, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviours in a positive, constructive way. You’ll have the opportunity to work 1:1 with pupils, as well as in small groups, providing targeted interventions to help children stay engaged in learning and develop essential life skills. Your role will involve implementing behaviour management strategies, collaborating with teachers and the SENCo, and building trusting relationships with pupils to ensure they feel supported and valued. Application Requirements: • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those displaying challenging behaviours. • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children. • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff, pupils, and families. • A passion for making a positive difference in children’s lives. • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one). Key Responsibilities: • Support students with challenging behaviours, helping them to engage with their learning in a positive way. • Work 1:1 and in small groups to deliver tailored interventions. • Assist class teachers and SENCo in creating a structured and safe learning environment. • Implement behaviour management plans and monitor pupils’ progress. • Promote the social and emotional development of students, ensuring they are included in all aspects of school life. • Liaise with external agencies and parents to provide updates on pupil progress.
