SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Manchester on a full-time basis. About the School: The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Gorton, Manchester. The School supports pupils aged 11-16 and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils. Pay, Hours and Contract: Pay Minimum GBP90 per day Hours 09:30am - 03:30pm Contract Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract. Start Date ASAP Location Gorton About the Role: The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and sensory needs on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The School supports pupils with varying levels of SEN, aged 11 - 18. Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts is key. A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this. Experience/Qualifications and Requirements: A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired) Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff. A resilient, proactive, and positive nature Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years About Prospero: Prospero Teaching is a Supply Agency that has branches across the world.
