About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with autism and other sensory impairments, as well as assisting with managing challenging behaviors. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure each child receives tailored support that addresses their individual learning and sensory needs.
About the school: Our school, rated Outstanding, is a local authority special school for children aged 4-11 with diverse and complex learning difficulties, including autism and sensory impairments. Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism (preferred).
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting children with diverse needs.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support pupils with autism and complex learning difficulties.
• Assist with managing challenging behaviours in a positive and constructive manner.
• Help implement individualised learning plans and strategies.
• Provide support for sensory and educational activities, including using ICT resources.
• Work as part of a team to ensure the holistic development of each pupil.
