Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young adults? Do you have experience and qualifications in American Sign Language (ASL)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at our mainstream post-16 college in Watford.
We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who requires assistance with American Sign Language (ASL), helping them fully engage with their education. Working Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, you will play a vital role in ensuring the pupil has the best possible learning experience in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated ASL support to a pupil in the classroom, interpreting lessons, instructions, and discussions.
Facilitate effective communication between the pupil, teachers, and classmates, ensuring equal access to all learning opportunities.
Assist the pupil in understanding and completing coursework, adapting materials where necessary to ensure accessibility.
Work closely with teaching staff to differentiate content and tailor resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.
Support the pupil's academic progress and independence, helping them build confidence in their abilities.
Provide regular feedback on the pupil's development to the teaching team and the SENCO.As a Teaching Assistant in Watford, you will be making a real difference in the life of a young learner. What We're Looking For:
A qualification in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential.
Previous experience working with students who use ASL, ideally in a post-16 or educational setting.
