Head of Engineering

Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment are currently with a leading Aerospace company based in Essex within the recruitment of a Head of Engineering. The Head of Engineering will also act as the Deputy Maintenance Manager and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager Required Responsibilities of the Head of Engineering Contributing to the Man Hour / Production planning system. Constructively advise on productivity improvements in relation to quality and process. Constructive contribution towards Facility layout and processes. Advising on inspection of components, parts, materials, tools and equipment and the related classification, segregation, and storage according to the manufacturers’ recommendations. Monitor the Organisations Tools/equipment Calibration requirements. Ensure a system is in place to monitor all scheduled and preventative maintenance and repair on all owned / leased / tooling / equipment. Maintain a system that provides and controls the availability of all current maintenance data to support products listed on the Organisations Capability list. Along with the Compliance Monitoring Department carry out assessment of additions and reviews of the Organisations Capability Listing. The recording and notification of any incomplete or ambiguous procedure, practice, information, or maintenance instruction contained in the maintenance data used by maintenance personnel to the author of such data. Ensure that all warranty claims and associated customer reports are evaluated, in an acceptable timescale to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensuring the competence of all personnel within the engineering department. Advise on OEM and internal technical training requirements for engineering and support staff as required. Organise OEM training as required for engineering and support staff. Advise on improvements to processes, products, and reliability recommendations received from the OEM / Operator. Maintaining the organisation's technical procedures / Standards relevant to the Engineering department. Responding to Safety and Compliance deficiencies in the area of activity for which he is responsible, which arise from the organisations auditing process. Liaise with the Safety and Compliance Department to produce investigation reports when required.
