Qualifications & Experience:
- No formal education is required, but a background in construction, carpentry, or similar fields is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices.
- Ability to measure and cut panels with precision.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, and adhesives).
- Ability to lift and move heavy panels.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, skilled in construction, and capable of working in a clean, hygienic environment.
- Full driving licence
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and prepare walls or surfaces for installation by cleaning, smoothing, and ensuring they are free from dust, dirt, or other debris.
- Remove old wall coverings or finishes when necessary.
- Measure, cut, and fit sheets to the required size, ensuring precise alignment and clean edges.
- Secure panels to walls using appropriate adhesives and fixings.
- Seal joints between panels to ensure a hygienic and water-resistant finish.
- Cutting and Fitting:
- Utilize various tools to cut panels to fit around obstacles such as pipes, windows, doors, and outlets.
- Use accurate measurements and ensure proper fitting without gaps or overlaps.
- Always ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and goggles.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure all installed panels meet the highest quality standards.
- Inspect completed work to ensure smooth finishes, strong bonds, and clean installations.
- Work closely with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure that Whiterock installation aligns with the overall project plan.
- Communicate any issues or delays to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
- Maintain and handle tools and equipment responsibly.
- Ensure all materials, such as adhesives and panels, are used efficiently and stored properly.
- Address any installation issues that arise on-site, such as uneven surfaces or fitting challenges.
- Modify plans and installation techniques as needed to achieve desired results.
