Job Requirements / Description
About Us Craufurdland Estate is a real family business. The Houison Craufurd family have lived at Craufurdland for nearly 800 years and today Simon Craufurd and his wife Adity run the estate. You’ll often find Simon and Adity’s daughters, Indra and Manisha, working in the Laird’s Table and all the people who work at Craufurdland are like an extended family. Everything we do is focused on providing the very best to allow families and friends to spend time together and make memories. Whether its enjoying lunch in our café/restaurant over-looking the lochan, holidaying within our self-catering apartment, walking in the woods, sailing through the tree tops on our adventure trail, or remembering a loved one in our woodland burial ground, those that visit Craufurdland tell us how much coming here helps restore their equilibrium. Our problem Unfortunately, Craufurdland is a bit of a well kept secret. We even bump into people in Kilmarnock (which is only two miles away) that don’t even know Craufurdland is here So, we need someone who can build Craufurdland’s profile and get people to come and enjoy the Craufurdland experience: · The Laird’s Table – our award-winning, 98 cover café/restaurant where we use only the freshest quality Scottish produce to deliver a mouth-watering, relaxed, dining experience. · Tree Tops Trials – our high ropes adventure course with its three thrilling courses suitable for children, parents, and grandparents alike · Outdoor Activities – whether its bush craft, mud running, archery, crate stacking, or simply a guided walk through our stunning estate we cater for everything from kids’ birthday parties to corporate team building. · The Woodland Burial Ground – situated on a secluded knoll, Craufurdland Woods provides the opportunity of a natural funeral which is a softer, gentler and a more mindful way of saying goodbye to a loved one. · The Towerhouse – our 4 Star Visit Scotland rated self-contained apartment can accommodate up to 16 guests · Canine Castle – what dog wouldn’t love to spend the day in a woodland estate? What we need We’re looking for someone with experience in growing sales in a leisure, F&B, and hospitality business. We’re sorry, but this isn’t a role for someone who hasn’t done this before. While there are always opportunities to learn and develop, we need someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of commercial targets, work to their own initiative and integrate seamlessly with the rest of the management team. We expect our sales activities will include organic and paid social media and database marketing, so the right person will need to be experienced in developing and delivering strategies and plans in both of those areas. However, its your ability to generate visitors to our estate and convert those visitors into revenues that we really want. Experience in the creation of high-quality content using video, photography and copy is essential. Initiative, creativity, attention to detail and achieving revenue targets are essential in this role. We think this role will require at least three days per week and we are flexible when those hours are worked, so this role may be ideally suited to someone who wants to continue their career while balancing caring/parenting responsibilities. Want to apply? In the first instance, we’ll leave it to you to send us a single A4 page that convinces us we need to meet you to find out if you could be the right person for us. But what might be on that single A4 page? Well, it could be a potted cv. Or it could be references from previous employers. Maybe it’s a list of your skills and achievements? Or maybe it’s some examples of effective campaigns you’ve delivered? It’s up to you. But we think this first creative challenge will give us a good idea if you might be the right fit for us. If you want to apply, simply email your page to aditycraufurdland.co.uk by 18 th November 2024 Terms and Conditions We are very flexible in how this works. If you want to join as a salaried member of staff we expect to offer a competitive salary, pension, 28 days holidays per year (pro rata) and the opportunity to work in a creative, dynamic, and distinctly non-corporate environment. Equally if you work freelance and want to add us to your portfolio of clients, that’s fine. Let us know your day rate when you send us your page.
